RESTRICTIONS AND FLEXIBILITY FOR SOUTH AMERICA


In order for you to travel at ease, LATAM is offering a series of alternatives to allow for changes in the travel plans of passengers who have been affected by the entry restrictions in certain territories.

ECUADOR

As a measure to contain the COVID-19 outbreak in the country, the Government of Ecuador announced that as of 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, 2020, the entry of foreigners by air, sea or land is suspended. Likewise, Ecuadorian citizens who are abroad may return and enter the country only until 11:59 p.m. on Monday, March 16.

 

In this situation, LATAM Airlines had to cancel its international operation to and from Ecuador, starting March 17th 2020.

 

PASSENGER FLEXIBILITY

 

If you have an international ticket with origin or destination Ecuador, with original flight date between March 9 and May 31, 2020, you can:

 

1.- Reschedule the date of your flight once without a fine

To fly until December 31, 2020

2.- Reprogram the date of your flight once without a fine and only paying the fare difference

To fly after December 31, 2020

3.- Make a change of origin or destination without a fine, subject to the difference in rates and validity of the ticket.

TIME TO THINK: Because we want you to make the decision calmly, these options will not be charged for not showing up at the airport until March 31, 2020.

BRAZIL

Suspension of São Paulo (GRU) - Milan (MXP) operations

Our operation between the cities of São Paulo and Milan (Italy) has been temporarily suspended from March 2 to April 16, 2020. This measure is based on the virus outbreak in northern Italy and the demand reduction for the route.

We are sorry for the inconvenience this situation may cause and encourage our passengers to use the option to reschedule their flight. If the available options don’t meet your needs, you can request route changes or ticket refund via the Customer Service Center in your country:

CHILE

Entry restrictions

- Passengers traveling to Chile from Italy or Spain must fill out a form and remain in quarantine for a 14-day period upon arrival at their destination.

- Passengers on domestic connections may travel normally.

Exceptions

- Passengers on international connections may travel normally

- Crew members

- Passengers with a connecting flight in Spain or Italy (transit) from a third country with Chile as the final destination.

PARAGUAY

Entry restrictions

- Passengers who have visited or traveled via China since November 5, 2019 will not be able to travel to Paraguay.

- In addition, Paraguay’s Foreign Ministry has informed that visas granted to Chinese citizens are suspended indefinitely.

COLOMBIA

Important information:

Since March 16, at 00:01 (local time), the entry of non-nationals and non-residents in Colombia is restricted.

- Colombian passengers and residents arriving will have to comply with preventive isolation for 14 days.

- All passengers entering to Colombia must previously fill out the preventive control form against the coronavirus on the website of Migración Colombia.

- Foreign passengers who refuse to fill out the immigration preventive control form or do not have medical insurance will be inadmissible.

PERU

Important information

 

  • The Government of Peru declared national state of emergency for a period of 15 days, based on the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation.
 
  • Since 11:59 p.m. on Monday, March 16, and for 15 days, "international passenger transport by land, air, sea and river is suspended."

ARGENTINA

Important information

  • Since March 14, 2020, and for 30 days-period, foreign citizens not resident in Argentina who have passed through "affected areas" in the 14 days prior to their trip willl not be able to enter Argentina. Only nationals of these country and resident foreigners may do so. The indicated period of 30 days can be extended at any time.
 
  • As of the date, “affected areas” are considered: the United States, Europe, China, Iran and South Korea. This list can be updated at any time.
