Protect your passwords and personal information!

Under the LATAM Fidelidade program, we use various procedures to guarantee the security of your data. This is why we would like to provide you with some useful tips to ensure you navigate the internet securely and that you protect your privacy while visiting our website. These are as follows:

  • Create a safe password that is easy to remember and hard for other people to decipher.
  • Never disclose your personal data or passwords to third parties. If you allow others to view your data, you facilitate any and all types of fraud and put your security at risk.
  • Never type your password in emails or websites of unknown origin. Remember that your passwords for gaining access and for redeeming KMS are confidential. You should never provide these details to third parties or to any persons/entities that commercialize points. These companies do not have any business relationship with LATAM, and they are not authorized to carry out this type of practice.
  • Do not include any personal information - such as your birthday, the name of a family member or your account number - as part of your passwords.
  • Avoid series of numbers or letters, such as '123456' or 'qwerty'.
  • Do not use the same password for different services, especially for bank accounts, etc.
  • Be careful with any strangers in your vicinity. Do not change or recover your password in public places.
  • Your password is personal and non-transferable.
  • Change it periodically - every 4 months at the most.

Avoid fraud and phishing of your accounts:

False emails and unofficial websites

Be careful with malicious imitations of our website that aim to obtain your personal information. To avoid this, consider the following points:

  • They use graphics and text similar to those of LATAM.
  • They request personal or confidential information.
  • The sender, email address and links are hosted by sites that imitate LATAM.
  • They offer prizes to obtain your information.
  • They usually contain spelling and/or grammar errors. They also use words that are not normally included in our communications.

Over the telephone

  • Always listen to who is speaking: both over the phone and in text messages. We will never ask you for your LATAM Fidelidade user password or credit card information.
  • To reserve your air fares, you will need to use your LATAM Fidelidade member number, your access password and your redemption password. This password will also be required to redeem your Multiplus points for air fares for others.

How to avoid this?

If you have questions about an email you receive, follow these steps to prevent visiting fraudulent sites and giving your personal information away:

  • Check whether the email is really from our LATAM Fidelidade program before your reply or follow through with any request. To do this, click on the sender's email address with the right button of the mouse.
  • If the message redirects you to a link, check whether the web page is the official LATAM site and whether it provides a secure connection for your login, shown by the padlock sign that should appear in the web browser.
  • Do not install programs as a part of a promotion. Review the extension of the attached files (avoid “.exe” format).
  • Keep in mind that LATAM will never ask you for your LATAM Fidelidade password or credit card information by email.
