Get ready for your flight by following these 3 simple steps!

 

 

Before your trip, check each country's entry restrictions because the spread of COVID-19. Keep in mind that this information is constantly changing. Therefore, we recommend you to keep checking the official websites of the country or state of your destination and be aware of the entry policies and exceptions that apply to your trip.

 

Passengers connecting between LATAM international flights in Sao Paulo (GRU), Santiago (SCL), or Lima (LIM); please check step 2 information corresponding to the connecting country in addition to your final destination

If you have a connecting flight with another airline, don't forget to check their website and verify what are the requirements that you must meet to board and continue with your trip.

STEP 1: Countries entry restriccions for international flights

Check the documentation and entry requirements for international flights. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, governments could request additional requirements or may have entry limitations for people arriving from certain countries.

STEP 2: Important information for each country

We want to keep you informed about the most important aspects of your trip, so you don't have any inconvenience on your domestic nor international flight.

BRAZIL

Foreign tourists (non-residents) in Brazil must have travel insurance before entering the country with the following coverage and conditions:

  • A minimum coverage of R $ 30,000.00 reais (Approximately USD 5500) and during the stay requested. 

  • The insurance policy must be in Portuguese or English.

 

International connecting flights:

  • Connection time cannot exceed a 24-hour time-lapse and passengers are not allowed to leave the international boarding area.

  • If all your flights are under the same reservation code, you would be able to claim your baggage in the final destination.

  • Always keep your travel documentation to enter the destination country at hand. Check-it out in Step 1.

  • If by any means, you need to enter the country, please keep in mind documentation requirements described in Step 1.

CHILE

Passengers on domestic flights must complete a Health Affidavit (signed statement) (health passport) on the site www.c19.cl

 

You will receive an email with the registration confirmation with a QR code that you must show at the airport's sanitary customs office before going to LATAM’s counter or entering the boarding. The validity period of this document is 24 hours.

 

At the airport, the health authority may request additional documents to corroborate the reasons for your trip such as medical appointments, service accounts or bank correspondence to validate residence address, employment contract, etc.

 

If you board in Santiago (SCL), we recommend you arrive 4 hours in advance due to the time it takes to go through health controls.

 

International connecting flights:

  • Connection time cannot exceed a 24-hour time-lapse and passengers are not allowed to leave the international boarding area.

  • If all your flights are under the same reservation code, you would be able to claim your baggage in the final destination. 

  • Sanitary control is not necessary if you do not enter the country.   

  • Always keep your travel documentation to enter the destination country at hand. Check-it out in Step 1.

     

Flights to the Aysén region (Balmaceda)

Since September 4, passengers must present a negative RT-PCR test to the health authority or MINSAL at the airport of origin, performed up to 72 hours (maximum) before flight departure. In case of not having this requirement, boarding will be denied.

Rapid blood or antibody tests for COVID-19 will not be valid; we suggest you contact your healthcare provider to confirm that the test is RT-PCR.

 

  • Nacional visitors, students and residents in Aysén are not allowed to enter, except for: exceptional work's reasons, medical treatment, funeral services of relatives or relocation/moving process; all these causes shall be properly verified by authorities  and may reject boarding if found it incomplete. In addition, all passengers must carry a safe pass obtained at Comisaria Virtual.

Flights to Easter Island

 Entry is only allowed to:

  • Permanent residents of the Island.
  • Professionals in order to carry out some essential work on the Island.

In addition to the Affidavit of Health (health passport), all passengers must fill out the FUI Form

 

COLOMBIA

In compliance with the Resolution of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of Colombia about aircraft travels, our clients must fulfill with the following provisions:

  • Access to the airport terminals will be allowed for a maximum of 2 hours before the scheduled departure time of the flight for domestic flights, and 3 hours before the scheduled for international flights. 

  • The correct use of facemasks is mandatory at all stages within the airport facilities and throughout the flight.

  • For those flights longer than 2 hours, each passenger is responsible to take additional facemasks to make changes during the flight. 

  • The use of wheelchair service is limited to people with reduced mobility or with a medical certificate that endorses its use.

  • Local Health and Sanitary authorities recommend traveling with less cabin baggage in order to reduce contact with surfaces inside the plane. We encourage you to carry only one cabin personal item that does not exceed 45x35x20 cm, for example: a purse, a small backpack, a laptop bag, a baby bag, etc., and place it under the passenger seat.

  • We recommend you to check other larger cabin baggage that does not meet the conditions explained above and deliver it to the check-in counter free of charge if your fare allows it.

  • Remember that fragile or perishable items, money, jewelry, precious stones or metals, silverware, negotiable documents, titles or other values should not be included in your checked baggage; cash, passports, photographic or video cameras, camcorders, computers, electronic tablets, mobile phones, calculators, glasses, bottles with liquor or perfumes, among others, for which the carrier is not responsible. These must be transported in the personal article.

  • You must download the CoronApp application and fill in the information requested before and 4 days after the flight. In case of traveling with infants, children or people who do not have the application, it can be completed on the same device. Review the CoronApp usage guide.

  • If you present symptoms or are diagnosed with COVID up to 14 days after your flight, inform us through this form - you must also report it to your Entidad Administradora de Planes de Beneficios (EAPB - Health Leading Entities) and through the CoronApp - Colombia.

  • All passengers entering Colombia must present a negative RT-PCR COVID-19 test, this result cannot be over 96 hours prior to the scheduled departure time. 

  • All passengers entering or leaving Colombia must complete a migration form in advance via Check Mig web site. This information is personal, therefore children are included in this fulfillment request. 

We also inform that by order of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, there is no service on board (food) during short flights, both in Economy cabins and in Premium Economy, nor will we have Premium Boarding available, since it will be done from back to front for all passengers without distinction.

 

Flying to San Andrés:

According to the indications given by the National Government, once you have purchased the air ticket to San Andrés, you must proceed to carry out the antigen test for covid-19 whose result must be negative in order to travel. In addition, this result cannot be over 48 hours prior to your trip.  Children under 7 are exempt from this regulation.

Consider the following steps in order to take the test:

  • The antigen test for COVID-19 will be authorized through Health Promoting Entity (EPS) and the Compensation Entities for all passengers older than 7 years who has have purchased air tickets to San Andrés for the request, the air ticket must be attached. 

  • Passengers can also take the antigen test in a licensed laboratory, the cost will be assumed by the passenger. 

  • The result of the test will be send to your email within 6 hours

  • You must present the following documents the day of your flight: identity document, air ticket and the COVID-19 test results. Without these documents, you will not be able to travel.

  • Always keep your antigen test results with you, because it may be requested in different stages of your trip.

  • During your stay on the island, if you have symptoms, you should contact your EAPB or go to a hospital. If you or any of your companions are positive, strict isolation will be carried out at the Iguana Gorda hotel in order to activate the protocol.

  • If you came positive at the destination, you must contact the LATAM Contact Center so your return ticket can be extended until the quarantine period established and informed by the Health Authorities is completed, from which support must be sent to the Airline.

ECUADOR

The health and municipal authorities will take rapid COVID tests to random passengers traveling between Guayaquil (GYE) and Quito (UIO).

 

Flights to the Galapagos Islands:

All passengers must have a negative result of an RT-PCR test, within a maximum of 96 hours prior to flight departure and carried out in authorized national laboratories. Results from international laboratories of passengers coming from abroad and within the time indicated above are accepted.

 

Rapid blood or antibody tests for COVID-19 will not be valid; we suggest you contact your healthcare provider to confirm that the test is RT-PCR.

 

In the case of national or foreign tourists, have the safe passage for organized groups issued by the Ministry of Tourism, which exempts them from compliance with quarantine on the islands.

GERMANY

Crossborders across the European Union are still partially closed, hence restrictions on the entry of tourists from certain countries are still in force (active). For more information, check the official sites of the country which you want to travel to.

 

The German government maintains a list of countries considered high risk and any passenger regardless of their nationality who has been in one of these countries during the last 14 days prior to their entry (does not apply in case of connections, as long as the passenger remains in the departure lounge), must submit a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test, performed up to 48 hours before the flight in a laboratory recognized by the German government (does not include Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia and Paraguay) and the result of the Exam must be in English or German languages.

 

Rapid blood or antibody tests for COVID-19 will not be valid; we suggest you contact your healthcare provider to confirm that the test is RT-PCR.

 

If the test is not performed before traveling, it will be done upon arrival in Germany.

If you don’t have a valid negative RT-PCR test, you must quarantine at destination until you obtain your result. Isolation conditions may change according to the German federal state you visit.

PERU

All passengers on domestic flights must comply with the following provisions:

  • The use of facemasks and face shields is mandatory to travel.

  • It is important that all passengers arrive at the airport in advance. We recommend 3 hours prior to the departing time from Lima and 2 hours before from the rest of the domestic airports.

  • All passengers must have an affidavit of health.

  • Passengers under 14 may only travel accompanied by at least one of their parents or guardian, who must present an additional Affidavit.

  • Passengers over 65 years of age must also submit an additional Affidavit.

 

We also inform that by order of the Ministry of Health, there is no service on board (food) during the flight, both in Economy cabins and in Premium Economy.

 

PORTUGAL

Crossborders across the European Union are still partially closed, hence restrictions on the entry of tourists from certain countries are still in force (active). For more information, check the official sites of the country which you want to travel to.

 

All passengers heading Portugal (including those who remain in the departure lounge to make a connection) must present a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test, performed up to 72 hours before the flight, otherwise they will not be able to travel.

 

Rapid blood or antibody tests for COVID-19 will not be valid; we suggest you contact your healthcare provider to confirm that the test is RT-PCR.

 

Given that the RT-PCR COVID-19 test must be carried out no more than 72 hours in advance, we recommend that you do it 48 hours before the departure of the flight to Portugal, so that you have flexibility in the event of unforeseen travel.

 

Due to the Portuguese government demands described above, the delivery of boarding passes by digital (website, e-mail or mobile application) is suspended. Please, go to the check-in counter at your airport of origin to request it to the final destination.

SPAIN

If you are flying to Spain:

As a request of the Spanish Authorities, we will need you to accept a Health Declaration (during the online Check-in or at the airport) to confirm that: you have no symptoms, you have not been diagnosed with COVID-19, you have not been in direct contact with a person who suffered from it, nor are you in a mandatory quarantine period.

In addition, to enter Spain, you must complete a health form before starting your trip, save the QR generated code digitally or print, and present it to the health authority at the destination.

 

 If you are traveling from Spain:

  • Go to the airport with enough time (maximum 6 hours before your flight departure), as security checks before flying may take longer.  

  • The Spanish Authority has restricted airport access exclusively to people who are going to travel. Only those who require assistance may be accompanied; people with reduced mobility (PRM) or unaccompanied children (UMNR).

  • As a requirement of the Spanish Authorities, we will need you to accept a Health Declaration (during online Check-in or at the airport) to confirm that: you have no symptoms, you have not been diagnosed with COVID-19, you have not been in direct contact with a person who suffered from it, nor are you in a mandatory quarantine period.

  • Don't forget your facemask. Facemasks are mandatory at all times, both at the airport and on the plane.

  • Remember to maintain a social distance of at least 1.5m at all times and wash your hands frequently with soap or hydro alcoholic gels.

  • Check your baggage in the hold of the airplane whenever possible, if your cabin and fare allows it.

  • If you are travelling with carry-on baggage, please remember that it must comply with the characteristics, size and quantity allowed.

  • If the Authority requires it, you must go through a sanitary control and present the required documentation.

  • Only approach the gate when your boarding group has been called.

UNITED KINGDOM

Before buying your ticket, be sure to read the latest UK health recommendations.

 

All passengers must comply with a preventive isolation period of 14 days. Individuals exempt from this are posted on the UK government website.

 

They must also complete the online form "Public Health Passenger Locator Form" including travel and contact information, which will be requested upon arrival.

 

People who do not comply with the above points are subject to fines and denial of entry into the country.

 

As a precaution against cross infection and to reduce interactions, cash is not accepted at the payment counter at the airport.

 

Anyone entering the UK is also advised to download and use the NHS contact tracker app once it is active (can be downloaded at the border).

URUGUAY

All passengers must present a negative RT-PCR test at the airport of origin, carried out a maximum of 72 hours before flight departure and in an accredited laboratory in the country of origin. Those under 6 years of age are exempt from this.

 

Rapid blood or antibody tests for COVID-19 will not be valid; we suggest you contact your healthcare provider to confirm that the test is RT-PCR.

 

In case of not having this requirement, boarding will not be allowed.

 

OTHER COUNTRIES

We recommend that you keep checking the official websites of the country or state of your destination and be aware of the entry policies and exceptions that apply to your trip.

MANDATORY USE OF MASKS ON ALL LATAM FLIGHTS

Each passenger is responsible to bring their own mask for personal use and wear it properly, fully covering nose and mouth. We accept the following types of mask:

  • Traditional surgical mask
  • N95 type
  • Fabric handmade mask
  • Fabric handkerchiefs or bandanas

The use of scarves or masks made of woven material (wool-yarn) is not allowed.

We ask our clients to use their mask correctly at all times and remove it only to ingest food and beverages.

We suggest not to use masks with valves and to follow the manufacturer's recommendation regarding the time of use, remembering that a mask should be discarded and replaced if it becomes dirty, wet or deteriorated. For long-duration flights it is advisable to bring extra masks for replacement.

 

No customer may board the plane without a mask (except infants from 0 to 2 years old) or using it incorrectly. In the case of refusing to use it during the flight, you will be reported as an unruly passenger with the respective authorities.

 

Those people who have a medical condition that makes it impossible to use it, must obtain a medical certification. The use of face masks will be more flexible in the case of minors between the ages of 2-11 years.
