Find out how many items of luggage you can take in the hold of the aircraft free of charge and their permitted dimensions and weight.

Standard weight and size of each bag

  • Linear dimension: 158 cm. (62 in) (width + height + length).
  • Weight: 23 kg. (50 lb) You must pay for additional baggage if your bag exceeds these dimensions and weight restrictions.
  • Baggage that exceeds the maximum dimensions permitted of 300 linear centimeters (118 in) may not be transported as checked baggage.
  • The maximum weight permitted to transport your baggage in the hold is 45 kilos (99 lb).
  • If you are flying within Brazil, it is 60 kilos (132 lb).
  • For routes to/from Aruba, Europe, Australia, Argentina or connections with Air Canada, Iberia, British Airways or Qantas, the maximum weight permitted per piece is 32 kilos (70 lb).

Domestic Flights

In Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru

  • Domestic flights within Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru allow one bag weighing 23 kg. (50 lb).

Exception: On flights between continental Chile and Easter Island you can take one additional bag of up to 23 kg.

Within Brazil

  • Domestic flights in Economy cabin within Brazil allow 23 kg (50 lb), with no limit on the number of bags.
  • Premium Business and Premium Economy cabins on flights within Brazil allow 3 bags weighing 96 kg (70 lb) in total.

Regional flights

Between Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru

  • If you are traveling in Economy cabin on any flights between Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru, you can take 2 bags weighing up to 23 kg (50 lb) in total.
  • If you are traveling in Premium Business or Premium Economy cabin on any flights between Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru, you can take 3 bags weighing up to 69 kg (152 lb) in total.

Exception: Routes between Asuncion (Paraguay) - Lima (Peru) and Asuncion (Paraguay) - Santiago (Chile) with any connections in South America allow 23 kg (50 lb) in Economy cabin, with no limit on the number of bags. For Premium Business and Premium Economy cabins you may take up to 69 kg (152 lb) with no limit on the number of bags.

Flights to or from Brazil

  • If your flight departs from or arrives in Brazil and you are traveling in Economy cabin, you can take 23 kg (50 lb) with no limit on the number of bags.
  • If you are traveling in Premium Business or Premium Economy cabin you may take 69 kg (152 lb) with no limit on the number of bags.

Exception: Flights from the Caribbean allow up to 2 bags weighing 64 kg (141 lb) in total if traveling in Economy cabin, and up to 3 bags weighing 96 kg (211 lb) in total for Premium Business or Premium Economy cabin.

International flights

  • If you are traveling in Economy cabin you can take up to 46 kg (101 lb) in total, distributed between 2 bags weighing up to 23 kg (50 lb) each.
  • For Premium Business or Premium Economy cabin you may take up to 69 kg (152 lb), distributed between 3 bags weighing up to 23 kg (50 lb) each.

Exceptions:

  • If your flight has any connections in or departs from Brazil and you are traveling in Economy cabin, you may take up to 64 kg (141 lb) in total, distributed between 2 bags of 32 kg (70 lb) each. For Premium Business or Premium Economy you may take up to 3 bags weighing 96 kg (211 lb) in total.
  • Direct flights on routes between Santiago (Chile) - Madrid (Spain), Santiago (Chile) - Madrid (Spain) - Frankfurt (Germany), Auckland (New Zealand) - Sydney (Australia) and Papeete (Tahiti) - Easter Island (Chile) allow up to 23 kg (50 lb) in total, distributed between a maximum of two bags, if traveling in Economy cabin. For Premium Business or Premium Economy cabin, you may take 3 bags of 23 kg (50 lb)each.
  • Flights for the Quito (Ecuador) - Miami (US) route allow only one bag weighing 23 kg (50 lb), if traveling in Economy cabin. For Premium Business or Premium Economy cabin you may take 2 bags weighing 46 kg (101 lb) in total.

Baggage allowance on connecting flights with other airline companies

Baggage allowance for children aged under 2 years

The permitted allowance of checked baggage for children aged under 2 years (between 0 and 23 months) is 1 bag of 23 kg. (50 lb) If they are traveling on routes between Brazil and Europe or between Brazil and the US, they may take 1 bag of 32 kg (70 lb).

If there is available space, they may also take one of the following items with them in the cabin of the aircraft:

  • A foldaway stroller.
  • A child safety chair approved for use on board aircraft.
  • A bassinet.

Additionally, you may take the following in the hold of the aircraft free of charge:

  • 1 additional bag of up to 23 kg (50 lb) on flights to or from continental Chile and Easter Island.
  • 1 set of golf clubs and a pair of golf shoes on flights within Argentina.
  • A foldaway wheelchair, a pair of crutches or other orthopedic apparatus you may require as a mobility aid.
