United States, January 31, 2016 04:00

With respect to the possible strike announced by Brazil's aeronautic personnel on Wednesday, February 3, between 6:00 and 8:00 am (local Brasilia time), LAN and TAM inform that their operation at the Guarulhos and Congonhas (Sao Paulo), Santos Dumont and Galeao (Rio de Janeiro), Brasilia, Porto Alegre, Florianopolis, Curitiba, Salvador, Recife, Fortaleza and Campinas airports may be affected.

If the strike does take place, the companies will take all the necessary measures to mitigate any potential inconvenience to passengers resulting from this situation.

LAN and TAM regret the possible inconvenience this uncontrollable situation may cause passengers and are providing alternatives so that those passengers traveling to, from and within Brazil, on February 3, can change their trip:

Passengers that have flights operated by TAM within Brazil scheduled between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm (local Brasilia time) or international flights to and from Brazil between 6:00 and 8:00 am (Brasilia time) on February 3, can move up or postpone their trip up to 15 days after the original flight, free of charge, subject to availability in the cabin. Additionally, passengers that have flights operated by TAM within Brazil scheduled between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm (local Brasilia time) or international flights to and from Brazil between 6:00 and 8:00 am (Brasilia time) on February 3 can also request a full refund.

Those wishing to reschedule their trip or request a refund may do so through the LAN and TAM Contact Center or by calling 1-866-435-9526 in the United States.

LAN and TAM are currently monitoring the situation and will inform their passengers about any itinerary changes. In addition, the companies suggest that their passengers continue to check the Flight Status section where the information will be updated on a regular basis.

The companies would like to reiterate their commitment to high standard security and quality service.
