LATAM to implement new security procedures for flights to the United States
LATAM will implement additional security measures for flights to the United States starting July 19, 2017, to meet revised security requirements issued by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for all airlines operating commercial flights to the United States.
As part of the new measures, passengers and their carry-on luggage may be subject to additional security inspections during the boarding process. To avoid boarding delays, the company is requesting – via its established communications channels – that passengers traveling to the United States should arrive at the airport at least three hours in advance of their flight and proceed to the boarding gate at the time stated on their ticket.
These measures will allow passengers to continue transporting electronic devices on flights to the United States.
LATAM reiterates its commitment to fully complying with the rules and regulations in each market where it operates as well as to upholding safety and security as fundamental values in its operational standards.
