LATAM Airlines, a oneworld member, was named the ‘Best Airline to South America’ in the 13th annual Global Traveler ‘GT Tested Reader Survey Awards’ last night at The Peninsula hotel in Beverly Hills, California.

The awards were based on an independently verified online survey of the readers of Global Traveler magazine, representing frequent travelers who average 13 international and 13 domestic round-trip flights as well as 50 nights in hotels per year, with 63 percent regularly travelling in business class.

In 2016, 22,000 people participated in the survey, voting for their favorite airlines, hotels, loyalty programs and travel-related products. The results were independently verified by accounting firm, Citrin Cooperman LLP, with no involvement from magazine employees or members of the travel industry.

“It is a great honor to be recognized once again as the ‘Best Airline to South America’,” said Ernesto Echeverry, Director, Marketing USA, Canada & Caribbean, LATAM Airlines Group. “The awards are based on the opinions of expert travelers and are an important way of gauging what our customers value the most. As an airline group, we remain committed to offering unrivalled connectivity to, from and within Latin America as well as products and services that showcase the very best of the region.”
