An essay on the wineries in Mendoza, Argentina

Anna Carolina Negri, Giselle Galvão

Mountains, greenery, wines: the delights and landscapes of Valle de Uco, the most sophisticated portion of this Argentine province

When to go

The region is proud to have almost 365 days of sun per year and, even during the snowy winter, blue skies. Grape harvest season takes place between February and April, a period celebrated with plenty of parties. Anyone looking to ski should go there from June to August. Summer is high season for adventure sports.

You’ll find everything from winter sports centers (south) to hotels that focus on luxury and well-being (Valle de Uco). The east is home to plenty of bodegas, and it’s where most of the grape harvest celebrations take place.

Getting there
