For the first time, LATAM’s menu was designed by several people from different departments. We used to offer two options for the main course. Now, with the new Economy Class menu on flights longer than seven hours, you can choose among a hot, a cold, low-calorie, or a vegetarian dish. They are all made with local ingredients from the flight’s place of origin.
The hot dish is the most popular among passengers, followed by the cold and vegetarian options, respectively. We realized that people prefer light meals, especially on flights departing around midnight. The salmon dish, for anyone flying from Santiago, is delicious!
The new menu has two breakfast options: salty or sweet. The salty, with eggs and a croissant, for example, is ordered by 60% of passengers. Kids and the elderly usually prefer the sweet option, with waffles.
When the menu was introduced to passengers on the route Santiago-Madrid, our crew members took notes and made suggestions. We listened and now we offer cold bread instead of hot and a larger wine glass. The service time has decreased significantly!
