By representing Brazilian funk abroad, Anitta also reveals what it’s like to be a Rio native to the world. With a strong, determined, and nonchalant personality, the 26-year-old singer has a successful career, having collaborated with many great names in music. One of her latest collaborations is with Madonna in the hit song “Faz Gostoso,” a track on the American star’s album Madame X, released in 2019.

On October 5, the singer will perform on Palco Mundo, Rock in Rio’s largest stage. This is the first time she’s on the line-up for the event, which has LATAM Airlines Brasil as its official airline. “It will be a special show, in the city where I was born, raised, and where I started my career. I think it will be memorable,” she says excitedly. Here, she shares tips on what to do in Rio de Janeiro for anyone coming to the festival or any other occasion to party.

1- Can’t-miss tourist attraction: Tijuca Forest

Of all the postcard sights in Rio, for Anitta, the most unmissable is the Tijuca Forest, considered one of the largest green areas in the world. “It’s a place in Rio that everyone should visit,” assures the singer. Start the tour at Parque Lage, where you can have a nice breakfast before exploring the trails.

2- Casa da Feijoada, to try the country’s most famous dish

From starred restaurants to draft beer and snack bars, the city is synonymous with great food. To try a typical Brazilian dish that’s one of Anitta’s favorites, she recommends a visit to Casa da Feijoada, a traditional restaurant in the neighborhood of Ipanema.

3- Clube dos Democráticos, to dance all night long

The night is young in neighborhoods like Lapa, Copacabana, Botafogo, and Barra da Tijuca. It’s hard to choose where to have fun among so many options, but Anitta has a suggestion: “The parties at Clube dos Democráticos, in the city center, are great for anyone who wants to experience a typical Rio night.”

4- Latin American rhythms to listen to on the way to the attractions

Assemble a playlist to enjoy the attractions accompanied by good music. You can include some Latino artists that Anitta loves, like Colombian J Balvin, Puerto Rican Ozuna, and Dominican Natti Natasha. “I’ve always enjoyed Latin American rhythms, and I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with incredible artists,” says the Rio-born diva.
