How the ambiance on planes interferes in your flight

What do you see when you board a plane? Seats, aisles, overhead bins... But there are subtler elements that interfere with the ambiance – and our perceptions. This is what Rafael Bonucci, a flight attendant and interior designer, believes in.

The same thing is applied to lighting. A technology for LED lights allows them to change colors from red, blue, and green. “A bluish tone conveys serenity. Meanwhile, when it’s time to eat, warmer colors can give you energy and pique your appetite,” he says.

 

He also affirms that the ambiance is darker on long-haul flights. This helps passengers to sleep better. As such, don’t hesitate to yawn: maybe there’s a reason why you’re sleepy.
