Among so many different festivals, choose your favorite to dance and enjoy some good music
It started in Chicago and became one of the most popular festivals in Latin America and Europe. Now, editions in five cities allow people to watch concerts by world-renowned alternative rock bands (like Arctic Monkeys and Radiohead) and discover new local artists with great repertoires.
For four days, the city of Daresbury in the United Kingdom is invaded by the best of trance and progressive music with the Creamfields Festival, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2017. To commemorate, the event is promising a great party with such big names as Above & Beyond, Annie Mac, Deadmau5 and Fatboy Slim.
Held in the charming colonial city in northeastern Brazil, Mimo brings together names that investigate music, from folk to classical. This year, the Amaro Freitas Trio are bringing their jazz with Pernambuco influences and the group Violons Barbares, from France, Bulgaria and Mongolia, is conducting a workshop.
Unlike most summer festivals, Sónar is held indoors near Parc de Montjuïc, maintaining its urban essence intact. Divided into two parties ('by Day' and 'by Night'), the festival brings together such high-caliber electronic music artists as Nicolas Jaar and Justice. It’s also a golden opportunity to discover new music trends.
This rock music festival is held at the park Domaine National de Saint Cloud, by the banks of the iconic Seine. The green area is integrated with architectural monuments and the uneven terrain, creating a lovely garden. Concerts by The XX, Flume and Franz Ferdinand will take place there.
Nothing about the Burning Man, an art and music festival held in the Nevada desert, is usual. Participants get involved in the event’s creation process, whether by performing or by volunteering to build the temporary structures in the Black Rock City in Nevada, 10 hours from Los Angeles.
