NOTAM

A notice to aircraft pilots that contains information concerning the establishment, conditions or changes in any aeronautical facility or procedure.

Ceiling

The altitude of the base of the lowest layer of clouds below 20,000 feet [6,000 m] covering more than half of the sky in a certain region.

Elevators

Movable surfaces located at the rear of the horizontal stabilizers. This equipment controls the pitch of an aircraft around its lateral  “Y” axis asisting with the takeoff and landing, as well as  the upward and downward movements in the air.

Turbofan

A type of airbreathing engine that’s widely used in commercial aircraft. It has a fan in the front, and the air moves through two parts of the engine. Turbofans consume less fuel and are decrease pollution levels.
