The largest and most important city in the state of Amapá has a little more than 300,000 inhabitants and is bathed by the Amazon River. Located in the center of the world, Macapá is the only Brazilian capital cut by the equator. At the monument that represents the imaginary line that divides the Earth, tourists usually pose for photos with a foot in the Southern Hemisphere and the other in the Northern Hemisphere. Another good tip is to enjoy the protected nature in the region’s indigenous reservations.
