Cajamarca Perú

Cajamarca Perú

Here, the hot springs, frequented by the last Inca Emperor, have a characteristic sulphur smell. The waters are heated by the scalding interior of Andean mountains. Vestiges of old Inca and Cajamarca civilizations can be found at the Ventanillas de Otuzco and the Cumbemayo Archaeological Complex, whose hydraulic project shows the high technology employed by ancestral communities. Finally, colonial architecture is also present in such structures as the Cathedral and Iglesia de San Francisco.
