The combination of hot sun with beautiful beaches makes this the perfect destination for surfers in Peru. There are colonial structures all over Piura, while the archaeological site of Narihualá tells the story of the Tallán culture, a people that lived in the region hundreds of years before the arrival of Spanish conquistadors in the north of the country. The locals’ friendliness is also one of the city’s trademarks, just like its fresh seafood for Piuran (and Peruvian!) cuisine.
