Between the Andes and the Pacific, on the border with Chile, Tacna is a city with many landscapes. And many activities: in addition to being a free economic zone, where you’ll find duty-free products, it’s also home to hot springs, rock paintings in the Toquepala Caves, and monuments that pay homage to the Pacific War, like Complejo Monumental del Campo de la Alianza and the Museo Histórico Regional. To eat, the picante a la tacneña (a kind of stew with potatoes) goes well with wine or pisco made in local wineries.
