LATAM’s check-in process is now easier and faster! We will gradually implement the self baggage check-in technology at the airports we operate. The first to receive it was the London airport and we expect to implement this technology in Quito (UIO), Brasília (BSB), São Paulo/Guarulhos (GRU), Rio de Janeiro/Galeão (GIG), and Bogotá (BOG) in 2019.
Check out the step by step to check in and drop off your luggage with LATAM:
1. For more autonomy and ease at the airport, check in ahead of time on our website or via the LATAM app and have your boarding pass with you.
2. At the airport, look for our bag tagging machines. They are usually in the airline’s service area. There, print the tags and wrap them around the handles of your bags. Make sure your luggage weight is within the limit.
3. After measuring, tagging, and checking in your luggage, look for the Bag Drop Area, a specific queue with blue signage. Make sure you’re traveling with the amount of bags your ticket allows, as you can’t drop off extra luggage in this area.
4. To drop off your bags, place your boarding pass on the scanner next to the conveyor belt and place your heaviest bag on it. Then, wait for the machine to indicate when it’s time to read the barcode on the bag tag. When the bag starts to move on the belt, it means it’s time to travel. Simple! (In case of any error or excess weight, head to the assistance line, in the check-in area).
