Inspired by Portuguese markets, O Mercado is the perfect place for anyone who wants a last codfish dumpling or piece of the famous Lisbon chocolate cake before leaving. Open from 5:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., the market has traditional Portuguese dishes and a selection of pastéis de nata from Aloma, one of the most famous pastry shops in the city.
Opened in June 2012, the airport subway station easily connects with the Lisbon subway red line. The trip from Terminal 1 to Praça do Comércio, a central spot in the Portuguese capital, takes approximately 50 minutes. The station stands out for its architecture and artistic interventions by Antônio Moreira, one of the most famous Portuguese contemporary caricaturists.
4.5 miles [7 km] separate downtown Lisbon from the airport, which has two terminals. Wi-Fi is free to all the passengers.
